Keep subscription management outside delivery
A recurring purchase involves billing, renewal schedules, pauses, and cancellations. Those functions belong to your chosen subscription system. QuickAttach's documented workflow handles a customer-specific file or link on an order; it does not establish subscription management or automatic preparation of the next file.
Before production starts, verify the actual new order and the relevant payment, hold, and period information through your business process. A calendar date or the presence of last month's customer record is not proof that another deliverable is due.
Give every period its own identity
Use an order reference plus a reporting period and revision. The same buyer and SKU can recur without the content being interchangeable. Keep the earlier order associated with its earlier deliverable rather than overwriting it merely because a new month has begun.
Two-renewal test plan
| Synthetic renewal | Expected asset | Check |
|---|---|---|
| Demo order 5181, April | 5181-report-2030-04-v01.pdf | April content on April order |
| Demo order 5182, May | 5182-report-2030-05-v01.pdf | May content on May order |
Create both through the test procedure supported by your subscription setup, or clearly mark manually prepared fixtures as simulations. Inspect order generation, period mapping, the two delivery paths, and whether the earlier order still points to the intended asset. This article reports no integration test results.
Handle missing and duplicate orders deliberately
If an expected renewal order is absent, consult the subscription system before preparing or sending another file. If two orders appear to cover one period, resolve the commercial and operational meaning before attaching the same asset twice. The delivery app should not be asked to infer which charge or renewal was intended.
Renewal release checklist
- New order exists and is eligible under your process.
- Period and purchased scope are confirmed.
- Fresh file contents match that period and order.
- Earlier orders retain distinguishable references.
- Message identifies the period being delivered.
- Any pause, cancellation, or duplicate is resolved externally.
Rehearse two consecutive periods with fictional data before live use. If your subscription app or order structure changes, repeat the affected checks rather than assuming the earlier result still applies.
