Keep Project Files Separate Across Several Orders from One Customer

Use both project and order references when one customer has several active jobs. The customer account provides relationship context; the order identifies the purchased output and the project identifies where that output belongs.

Do not make email the project key

One email address can buy work for different teams, locations, or campaigns. A folder named after that address can therefore mix unrelated deliverables. Create a neutral project reference and map each order to it in your approved work tracker.

Keep the order reference in the filename even when the project name is memorable. Projects can contain several purchases, corrections, and add-ons. The combined reference helps support locate the right commercial context without guessing from a document title.

Two fictional projects

ProjectOrderPurchased outputCurrent asset
DEMO-CATALOG5186-ACatalog layoutcatalog-layout-v03
DEMO-EVENT5186-BEvent posterevent-poster-v02
DEMO-CATALOG5186-CCatalog add-on pagecatalog-add-on-v01

All three orders belong to the same fictional buyer. A request for “the latest design” is ambiguous: the newest order is an add-on page, not necessarily the complete catalog or event poster.

Organize the working area

Use a project folder or tracker for production, then a distinct release area for each order's finished output. If you deliver external links, point to the intended release destination rather than the parent folder containing every project. This reduces accidental cross-project exposure and makes revision history easier to interpret.

Do not overwrite an earlier order's destination when a new project starts. If the business intentionally provides a living workspace, describe that promise separately and preserve the relationship between purchases and updates.

Answer support from the map

When the fictional buyer asks for the event poster, support selects DEMO-EVENT and order 5186-B rather than searching the customer's newest files. The QuickAttach order delivery workflow provides the corresponding file or link context.

The project map is an operational convention your team maintains. It is not a claim that QuickAttach supplies project management, cross-order grouping, or automatic folder creation.
