Consult the system that owns the pause
Subscription schedules, pauses, resumptions, and billing outcomes belong to the chosen subscription provider. Check that system's current records and the resulting Shopify order through your normal operating process. Do not use QuickAttach as the source of truth for whether a subscription is active.
Be precise about the period affected. A pause may concern a future cycle while an earlier paid order still needs delivery. The operational question is which obligation exists, not simply whether a customer has a “paused” label somewhere.
A fictional paused cycle
Demo customer “Studio Example” received an April report and requested a pause before the May cycle. Staff see an old order and a calendar reminder to prepare another report. They stop and inspect the subscription system and order history. They do not create or send May work based only on the recurring calendar entry.
If a valid May order already exists, its treatment requires the authorized business process. This article does not prescribe cancellation, refund, or billing rules; it explains how to avoid producing a file on an unverified assumption.

Keep unnecessary personal data and billing details out of broadly shared notes. A reference to the authorized system is preferable to copying sensitive records into a production checklist.
Resume without backfilling assumptions
When a subscription resumes, confirm which period the next order covers. Do not automatically generate missing-period reports or reuse the last completed file. The subscription agreement and actual new order should define the work.
- Verify the resumed state in the external system.
- Identify the new order and purchased period.
- Check any unresolved earlier deliverables separately.
- Prepare a fresh order-specific asset.
- Send only after the ordinary release checks pass.
The QuickAttach workflow can deliver the resulting file or link once the assignment is valid. It does not manage subscription pauses, create renewal orders, or automatically block work based on an external billing state.
