Shopify use case

How to deliver audits and assessments through Shopify.

Sell the assessment at checkout, prepare the customer-specific report afterwards, and deliver it to the correct order.

Merchant workspace with customer-specific assessment documents being prepared

An audit or assessment is usually created for one customer. Whether you sell a property review, business assessment, care plan, compliance report, or another expert deliverable, the finished document may not exist when the Shopify order is placed.

The useful workflow is simple: receive the order, collect the information needed for the work, prepare and check the report, attach it to the matching order, and give the customer a clear download path. This keeps the deliverable connected to the sale instead of leaving it in a separate inbox or folder.

Why a standard digital download is a poor fit.

A product-level download assumes that the same file belongs to every buyer. That works for a fixed checklist or guide. It breaks when each audit reflects different answers, documents, measurements, or professional judgement.

Manual email can be enough for the first few orders, but it creates avoidable risk as volume grows. The report, customer, order number, and delivery status can become scattered across filenames, email threads, and shared folders.

A practical audit-delivery workflow.

1. Make the required inputs clear.

Tell the customer what information is needed to complete the assessment. Use the product description, order questions, or follow-up process to collect the address, documents, measurements, goals, or other inputs relevant to the service. Clear inputs reduce back-and-forth after payment.

2. Use the Shopify order as the work queue.

The order should identify what was purchased and what is still being prepared. Keep the report request associated with the order rather than relying on a separate list that can drift out of date.

3. Review the finished report before delivery.

Check the customer name, order number, scope of the assessment, and file contents. For private documents, matching the file to the right customer is a basic delivery control, not an optional polish step.

4. Attach the file to the matching order item.

When the PDF or secure link is ready, connect it to the order or line item it belongs to. If an order contains more than one assessment, keep each deliverable identifiable so the team can see what is ready.

5. Send a clear delivery message.

When the report is ready, give the customer a branded email with enough context to recognise the order and a direct download path. A customer who needs the report again should have an order-linked route instead of having to search an old attachment.

Where QuickAttach fits.

QuickAttach is being built for this post-checkout workflow: attach a customer-specific audit, assessment, or secure link to the relevant Shopify order item, deliver it through a branded email when fulfilment is ready, and keep the customer download path associated with the order.
