Identify the configuration that changes the guide
A useful personalized guide removes irrelevant choices. Determine which order details genuinely affect setup: model, selected accessory, orientation, or installation option. Use those values to prepare the guide in your documentation tools. QuickAttach does not generate the document from the order.
Keep product instructions under the control of the people responsible for them. Do not invent electrical, structural, or safety instructions to make a document feel personalized. Where the manufacturer provides authoritative instructions, preserve the relevant references and confirm that your supplement is consistent with them.
A fictional desk organizer
Demo order 5152 is for a modular desk organizer with a left-side tray and two dividers. The custom guide highlights those pieces and excludes the optional right-side module the buyer did not purchase. This benign example illustrates document matching rather than technical installation advice.
Guide card — DEMO-5152
Product: modular desk organizer
Purchased configuration: left tray; two dividers
Guide revision: v02
Included inventory: base, tray, two dividers
Reference: current approved product instructions
Customer action: compare delivered parts with the inventory
Support route: quote order and guide revision
Before delivery, compare the card with the packing record. If a substitution changes the product, update the guide or clearly explain the difference rather than sending instructions for the original configuration.
Check the exported guide
- Confirm model and configuration on the first page.
- Check every illustration against the supplied variant.
- Remove irrelevant optional steps or label them as optional.
- Keep official warnings and support references intact.
- Open the final PDF on a small screen to check readability.
A diagram that looks clear on a large monitor may be difficult to follow while the customer handles parts. Use legible labels and avoid relying only on color to distinguish components.
Send with an accurate status
Attach the finished guide using the QuickAttach order workflow. If it arrives before the product, say that plainly: “Your configuration guide is ready; your parcel follows separately.” Inspect fulfillment settings so a digital send does not accidentally alter the physical workflow.
Keep the guide revision associated with the order for support. If the customer later asks about a missing divider, staff can compare the purchased configuration, guide, and packing record instead of guessing from a generic product manual.
