Confirm the page and block your store supports
Shopify’s app-block documentation explains that installed apps can be added to supported checkout and account pages through the checkout and accounts editor. Available blocks and placement depend on the app and page. Do not assume a block appears everywhere merely because the app is installed.
The QuickAttach walkthrough describes a customer return path from the order-status page, while support lists customer-page extension activation as a support topic. Confirm your account configuration and available QuickAttach block before promising that path to buyers.
Configure the supported surface
- Open Shopify’s checkout configuration editor from the relevant settings area.
- Select the order-status page in the editor.
- Inspect the installed app blocks available for that page.
- Add the appropriate QuickAttach block where the editor allows it, then review its available settings.
- Save the configuration and check that you are editing the configuration intended for your store.
- Test the customer path with a synthetic order containing a delivered harmless file.
Shopify can change navigation labels, and not every block is available on every page. If you cannot find the expected block, check the current app instructions or contact support rather than substituting unrelated theme code.
A fictional activation check
A merchant prepares order 4501 with a test planning PDF. The admin preview shows the block, but the merchant also opens the order through the supported customer route. They check the item label, download action, and actual file contents. A successful editor preview alone would not establish that the customer can retrieve the file.
Record these acceptance observations
| Observation | What to record |
|---|---|
| Configuration | Account mode, page, and enabled block |
| Undelivered order | What the customer sees before release |
| Delivered order | File label and usable download action |
| Return visit | Whether the supported path remains usable |
| Phone view | Reading and action usability |
This is a proposed acceptance protocol, not a report that every account mode or plan has passed. Keep the actual result and any limitations in your store procedure.
Once verified, write customer instructions that name the route you tested. A customer should not be told to visit a download tab or account page that your current configuration does not expose.
