Collect machine context before exporting
A customer asking for an “embroidery file” has not yet specified a complete delivery requirement. Record the requested machine format, intended design size, hoop constraints supplied by the buyer, and whether a preview or color sequence is part of the purchase. The responsible digitizer should assess production suitability in the appropriate software.
Do not treat successful file delivery as a stitch-out test. QuickAttach moves the finished asset to the customer; it does not digitize artwork, inspect stitch paths, or establish compatibility with a particular machine. Any machine testing belongs in the production process and should be reported only when actually performed.
Manifest for a fictional patch design
Demo order 5138 is a simple fictional leaf patch. The buyer has supplied the intended machine format, recorded here as “agreed machine export” rather than an unsupported universal extension promise.
| Entry | What it tells the buyer |
|---|---|
| 5138-leaf-machine-v02 | Export in the format agreed for the buyer's equipment |
| 5138-leaf-preview-v02.pdf | Illustration and agreed dimensions, clearly marked as a preview |
| 5138-color-sequence-v02.txt | Sequence information prepared by the digitizer |
| README.txt | Package version, included files, and support route |
The final filenames should include their real extensions. This example leaves the specialized format unspecified because machine requirements must be established for the actual job.
Package and validate deliberately
A ZIP can keep the export and instructions together, but it adds an extraction step. Test that the archive is accepted and can be downloaded and extracted before using it with customers. If direct upload does not support the required file, evaluate an external link with recipient access verified at the hosting provider. Do not rename a file's extension simply to bypass an upload check.
Proposed pre-release protocol
- Confirm the machine and requested export with the customer.
- Have the digitizer review the export using the appropriate production tools.
- Open the preview and compare its revision with the machine asset.
- Extract the customer package into an empty folder and reconcile it with the manifest.
- Download through a synthetic order and verify the file names and contents.
This is a test plan, not a completed compatibility report. Consult QuickAttach support for current upload restrictions and keep a separate record of any actual machine or stitch-out test.
