Start from the portrait’s intended use
A profile image and a framed print need different preparation. Confirm orientation, crop, dimensions, and whether the buyer expects a transparent background. Do not promise a particular print result from a file label alone; the export must meet the agreed specification.
Keep any reference photographs and personal inputs in the studio’s approved production process. They need not travel in the final customer package.
A fictional portrait package
| File | Use | Instruction |
|---|---|---|
| 522-portrait-print-R2.jpg | Agreed print size | Use the accompanying print note. |
| 522-portrait-web-R2.png | Agreed online use | Use this smaller export for the specified purpose. |
| 522-readme.txt | Package map | Confirms dimensions and current revision. |
DEMO-522 depicts a fictional character. The example uses no real person’s photograph and claims no completed artwork test.
Keep the preview out of the final path
A preview may use lower resolution or a review mark. Put “preview” in its visible label and explain its role when sending it. At final handoff, omit obsolete previews unless the buyer needs them for a specific agreed reason.
If the review process uses an external approval message, record that approval before release. Do not infer acceptance from a download event.
A final portrait check
- Confirm the approved composition and revision.
- Inspect the crop and edges at useful magnification.
- Check actual pixel dimensions and file format.
- Verify that background treatment matches the order.
- Remove source photos and unrelated exports.
- Open the final delivered package as a buyer would.
QuickAttach’s order workflow can associate the approved portrait package with its purchased item. If both print and web exports belong to one item, use a supported package arrangement rather than assuming two separate attachment fields.
Give the buyer one clear starting point
The delivery message should identify the final revision and direct the customer to the read-me. State which file to use for their intended output and where to report a mismatch. If they later need a different crop or size, treat that as a scope question for the artist rather than automatically relabeling an existing export.
