Send a Paid Commission Preview Without Marking the Work Final

Label the file as a preview and state what feedback is needed. Sending a preview should not imply that the commissioned work is final or that the customer has approved it.

Define the review stage before sending

A preview can ask the buyer to review composition, wording, or a specific detail. Name the decision you need, the reply route, and any agreed deadline. A vague “let us know what you think” makes it difficult to know when the work is ready to finalize.

Keep approval in the studio’s actual review process. QuickAttach should not be described as an integrated approval system, and a download event is not an approval.

These are suggested operational states, not claimed native app statuses. Keep them in the tool your team uses for commission management.

A preview message template

Your preview for order [reference] is ready for review. Please check [specific elements] and reply through [review route] by [agreed date]. This is a preview, not the final delivery file. We will prepare the final export after the agreed review step is complete.

Only include a date if it matches the service agreement. If a watermark or reduced resolution is used, explain that it belongs to the preview stage.

Check fulfillment choices carefully

QuickAttach documents delivery with optional Shopify fulfillment. Verify the controls in your store before sending a preview so the action does not misleadingly mark the full commission complete. Do not assume that changing a delivery label automatically changes the shop’s wider production state.

  1. Confirm the preview belongs to the correct order.
  2. Put “preview” in the visible label and file.
  3. Specify the feedback requested.
  4. Check the intended notification and fulfillment action.
  5. Record the next owner and review checkpoint.

For fictional DEMO-525, the buyer is asked to approve the greenhouse illustration’s composition only. Final color and export checks remain with the artist. At final delivery, explicitly identify the final package and explain that the earlier preview is superseded.
