Ask about the destination first
“A digital invitation” can mean a file a print shop will manufacture or an image the couple will share on a phone. Those needs may call for different exports. Collect the printer's actual specification instead of treating one document size, color setting, or bleed value as universal. Decide separately which screen layout the buyer wants.
Keep the approved wording in one controlled source. Names, dates, locations, and RSVP details can drift when the designer edits the print and screen versions independently. After any wording change, review both outputs against that source rather than only opening the file that was edited last.
A synthetic invitation package
For fictional order 5133, the couple Alex and Morgan approves an invitation for a fictional celebration on 18 June 2030 at Example Hall. The deliverables are a print PDF built to the chosen printer's specification and a screen image for sharing. All details here are invented and should remain visibly marked as demonstration content when used for training.
| Package entry | Intended use | Check before release |
|---|---|---|
| 5133-invitation-print-v03.pdf | Send to the nominated printer | Printer requirements and final wording |
| 5133-invitation-screen-v03.png | Share electronically | Text readability on a phone |
| README.txt | Explain the two versions | No instruction to print the screen image |
Choose one understandable delivery package
If the files belong together, a tested archive or an externally hosted folder may be easier than an unexplained collection of links. Validate the actual archive or file extensions in your store before promising direct uploads. QuickAttach supports an order-item file or link workflow; that is not a promise of several attachments per item.
The delivery message should name both outputs and say which one goes to the printer. Include the agreed revision reference and a route for reporting an incorrect date or missing page. Do not tell the buyer that opening the delivery constitutes approval.
Final invitation checklist
- Compare every name, date, time, and address with the approved wording.
- Open both exports and inspect the complete design at a readable size.
- Remove earlier proofs and unused alternatives from the final package.
- Confirm the printer's specification and label the screen file clearly.
- Check the download path as the intended recipient.
Use the order-to-download walkthrough for the delivery stage. Design production and customer approval remain outside that stage.
