Prepare a finished customer destination
Place the final deliverable in an appropriate Drive location and check the surrounding access settings. Prefer a dedicated customer file or package over a broad working folder. Verify the document's revision, title, and contents before sharing; a correct permission on the wrong report is still a delivery error.
Google's official sharing guide explains restricted access, sharing with specific people, and link access. Choose the model appropriate for the content and authorized recipient. Do not switch a private deliverable to broad link access solely to avoid a sign-in problem.
Match the permission to the customer task
If the buyer only needs to receive the finished file, editing access may be unnecessary. Review the current role and download controls in Drive. Workspace policies and inherited folder permissions can affect the choices available; verify the actual result rather than assuming the share dialog tells the whole story.
The email used for a Shopify purchase may differ from the Google account the customer intends to use. Resolve the authorized account before sharing restricted material. Keep that confirmation in the appropriate operational record without exposing private addresses in public notes or screenshots.
Fictional access test
For demo order 5162, create a harmless file titled “DEMO-5162-package-v01.” Use two controlled identities: an owner and an intended test recipient. No real customer data is needed.
- Grant the test recipient the intended access in Drive.
- Copy the specific file or package link.
- Open it in the test recipient's context.
- Check that the correct revision is visible and downloading works if promised.
- Confirm unrelated production material is not included in the destination.
- Attach the verified link to the synthetic order and inspect the received message.
This protocol is not a completed test or a guarantee about a particular Workspace account.
Explain the handoff
A suitable message says the link opens Google Drive and identifies any expected sign-in. Use the QuickAttach walkthrough for the order-delivery stage. QuickAttach does not copy the Drive file, create a backup, or repair Drive permissions by sending its URL.
Assign an owner for future access issues. If the file is moved, deleted, or restricted later, revisit the destination and permissions before resending the same link. Keep a separate record of the delivered revision if the hosted document may change.
Deliver the right file with the right order
