Confirm both output specifications
Ask what the print provider requires and where the online image will appear. Dimensions, crop, background, and file format should follow those agreed uses. Do not assume one export can serve every purpose simply by changing its filename.
The artwork is created and exported outside QuickAttach. Keep the editable source separate unless it is explicitly included in the commission.
A fictional export manifest
| File | Intended use | Specification to record |
|---|---|---|
| 524-illustration-print-R1.tif | Agreed print output | Actual dimensions and printer-approved settings. |
| 524-illustration-web-R1.png | Agreed web placement | Actual pixel dimensions and background. |
| 524-output-notes.pdf | Handoff instructions | Which export to use and known limits. |
The formats are illustrative, not universal recommendations. For DEMO-524, the artist and buyer would confirm them against the actual destination before export.
Check differences that matter
Compare the print and web versions for composition, missing elements, and unintended crop changes. If the web export is simplified, explain that difference. If a print export includes marks or extra margins required by a provider, make that purpose clear.
- Verify the approved artwork revision in both files.
- Check actual dimensions rather than the filename.
- Inspect transparency and edges where relevant.
- Open the exports independently of the source project.
- Confirm the read-me describes the files actually included.
- Test the packaged download and extraction.
Use one understandable entry point
For one purchased illustration with several exports, a ZIP or controlled package destination can keep the handoff coherent. QuickAttach documents per-item file or link delivery; do not assume multiple individual attachment slots for the same item.
Check the total against the current upload guidance. A large print master may need external hosting, which requires its own access test and maintenance owner.
A clear customer instruction
Use the file labeled print for the agreed print output and the file labeled web for the agreed online placement. Please check the output notes before resizing or cropping. Contact us if your printer or platform requests different specifications.
Do not promise identical color on every screen and printer. The handoff should communicate the agreed specifications and route questions back to the artist when a new output is requested.
