Deliver a Custom Assembly Drawing with a Made-to-Order Product

Have the responsible designer prepare and validate the assembly drawing, then deliver the checked revision against the matching product order. The delivery app does not provide engineering validation or certify that instructions are safe.

Identify the exact assembly

A custom product can differ from a standard model in dimensions, component arrangement, or included fittings. The drawing must reflect the actual supplied configuration. Record the product reference and drawing revision in both the document and the order handoff.

Keep technical approval with the appropriately qualified person or supplier. Do not improvise load limits, fastening instructions, or safety statements in the delivery email. If the drawing requires professional review, that review must happen before distribution and be documented in the relevant production system.

An illustrative document map

Demo order 5158 concerns a fictional tabletop display kit. The example below is explicitly non-technical and contains no assembly directions for a real product.

ILLUSTRATION ONLY — NOT FOR CONSTRUCTION
Order: DEMO-5158
Product reference: display-kit-example
Drawing revision: v03
Page 1: labeled overview of included demo pieces
Page 2: references to approved assembly instructions
Open issues: none, or identify and hold delivery
Technical reviewer: record only after actual review

The purpose is to show the fields a delivery record needs. A real drawing must contain the accurate instructions and approvals required for the actual product.

Check the export and the packing record

Open the final document and verify page count, legibility, orientation, and revision. Compare the component list with what production intends to supply. If the drawing references an accessory missing from the order, resolve that mismatch before sending rather than leaving the customer to interpret it.

Large-format drawings can be difficult to read on a phone. Explain the intended viewing or printing context and provide an appropriate alternative only if it preserves the authoritative information. Do not claim that shrinking a drawing automatically preserves scale or usability.

Handoff checklist

  1. Actual product configuration confirmed.
  2. Required technical review completed outside the delivery app.
  3. Drawing revision visible on every relevant page.
  4. Export compared with the approved source and supplied components.
  5. Customer message identifies the document and support route.
  6. Physical dispatch state remains separately controlled.

The QuickAttach workflow handles the checked file or link. Consult support for upload questions. A recorded download does not prove that the buyer followed the instructions or that the design meets engineering requirements.
