Separate scripts, takes, and revisions
A script section answers “what is being spoken?” A take answers “which performance?” A revision answers “which corrected delivery?” Keep those concepts separate. Otherwise a customer may insert an outdated line into a project because a later take number appears newer than the corrected package.
Agree on whether the buyer wants raw selected takes, edited clips, or a joined final recording. Record pronunciation decisions and required pacing in the production brief. The delivery stage should not become the first moment the customer learns that each line is in a separate file.
A synthetic take manifest
Demo order 5143 contains voice-over for a fictional museum audio introduction. The names below describe a proposed package; they are not recordings or measured results.
| Filename stem | Content | Use |
|---|---|---|
| 5143-intro-warm-t01-v02 | Opening welcome | Primary selected performance |
| 5143-intro-brisk-t02-v02 | Opening welcome | Alternative pacing |
| 5143-directions-neutral-t01-v02 | Visitor directions | Current corrected wording |
Add real export extensions when preparing the package. The manifest should identify which alternatives are optional and which file supersedes a previous delivery. Avoid shipping every studio take unless that is part of the purchase.
Inspect the boundaries of each clip
Check that clip beginnings do not cut into the first word and endings do not omit the last syllable. Listen for stray instructions or private conversation around the performance. If the buyer needs a precise duration or technical specification, verify it with the appropriate audio tools and record the result honestly.
Package related clips in a tested archive or use a properly permissioned external destination. QuickAttach documents a file or link per order item, not an unlimited set of independent takes attached to one item. The support page provides the current upload size check.
Customer handoff template
Order 5143: the v02 voice-over package is ready. Start with the take manifest. “Warm” is the primary intro; “brisk” is an optional alternative. The directions clip includes the agreed wording correction and replaces the earlier version. Tell us the full filename when reporting an issue.
Before sending, reconcile the number of files with the manifest and open the archive from a clean folder. This simple acceptance step catches missing alternates without pretending to automate creative selection.
