Describe the correction precisely
Identify whether the change concerns a crop, text, missing element, color treatment, or damaged export. Confirm the intended correction with the artist’s approved record. Avoid silently expanding the scope into a new design.
Keep a stable artwork reference and add a revision label. The reference identifies the commission; the revision distinguishes the corrected export. A visible preview comparison can help internally, but use only authorized or synthetic artwork in shared examples.
A synthetic visual revision record
Order: DEMO-528 Artwork reference: SAMPLE-GREENHOUSE Old file: 528-greenhouse-R1.png New file: 528-greenhouse-R2.png Change: Corrected the fictional sign from “Demo 1” to “Demo 2” Unchanged: Agreed dimensions and composition Customer action: Use R2; replace saved R1 copies
This is a proposed demonstration, not an image-editing test result. The two obvious labels make a stale-copy problem easy to identify without using real commissioned artwork.
Check the actual export
- Inspect the corrected area at useful magnification.
- Check edges, crop, transparency, and dimensions for unintended changes.
- Open the exported file separately from the source project.
- Match the order and purchased item.
- Test the newest delivery route.
- Check what earlier links open instead of assuming they refresh.
If the destination is an external folder, make sure the buyer can distinguish the new file and cannot accidentally select an unlabeled older version.
Tell the buyer what to look for
The corrected image for order [reference] is ready as [filename/revision]. It changes [specific visual detail]. Please download a fresh copy and use it instead of [old revision]. If you still see the previous detail, tell us which message or download route you opened.
Only say dimensions or composition are unchanged after checking them. The buyer may have a local copy open even when the current online route is correct.
QuickAttach documents order-item delivery, not automatic synchronization of all saved customer copies. Keep the approved source and change note in the studio’s process. If the correction affects several export formats, update and verify each one, then revise the package manifest so print and web files do not end up on different revisions.
