Make stages meaningful to the buyer
A partial file is not automatically a useful milestone. Choose stages that can stand on their own, such as a scope note, a findings report, and a final synthesis. Tell the buyer whether earlier stages are provisional and whether later work replaces or supplements them.
Do not split a single item into imagined attachment slots. QuickAttach documents partial delivery and per-item files or links; verify the exact mapping your product structure supports before promising separate chapter releases.
A fictional chapter schedule
| Stage | Purchased item | Deliverable | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Scope review | scope-R1.pdf | Agreed questions and boundaries. |
| 2 | Findings | findings-R1.pdf | Evidence summary for the defined scope. |
| 3 | Synthesis | final-R1.pdf | Final combined conclusions and index. |
For DEMO-496, stage two is ready while stage three is still in review. The merchant sends a message naming the completed findings item and the remaining synthesis work. The overall engagement is not described as complete.
Track dependencies outside the send button
A research stage may wait on a review or missing input. Keep that dependency in the production process with an owner and next update date. A delivery app does not establish that the evidence is sufficient or that professional review has occurred.
- Confirm the stage meets its agreed scope.
- Check whether its conclusions are provisional.
- Verify the item association and current revision.
- Name the stages included in this delivery.
- Give the next update time for outstanding work.
A partial-delivery message
The findings report for order [reference] is ready. This delivery covers stage two only. The final synthesis remains in review, and we will update you by [date and timezone]. Keep the scope note as a companion until the final package identifies which documents it supersedes.
Adapt the wording to actual contracted stages. Do not promise an automatic next release or reminder unless another verified system provides it.
At final handoff, include an index explaining which versions remain current. Test the customer route to each promised component. If everything is ultimately combined into one package, label that package clearly so the buyer does not have to reconstruct the final report from several dated messages.
