Deliver a Commissioned Inspection Report Through Shopify

Release only the inspection report approved by its responsible professional, and match its asset reference and inspection date to the purchased service. Delivery checks do not replace technical inspection review.

Identify the commissioned work precisely

An inspection service may produce a report, photographs, and appendices. Confirm which outputs the buyer purchased and which version the professional has released. Do not send field notes or preliminary observations merely because they are available first.

This article concerns file handling. It does not advise on inspection methods, safety conclusions, property condition, or professional obligations. Route those questions to the inspection provider.

A fictional release record

Order: DEMO-506
Asset reference: FICTIONAL-ASSET-C
Service: Demonstration inspection report
Inspection date: Synthetic example date
Approved report: 506-report-R1.pdf
Appendix: Included within the approved PDF
Release owner: Assigned inspection professional
Test material: No real property or customer information

Use an internal reference instead of exposing a full asset address in the delivery filename. The approved report itself should carry whatever identifiers the provider requires.

Check the exported report as a complete unit

  1. Confirm asset reference and inspection date.
  2. Match the purchased scope and report type.
  3. Check all pages, photographs, and appendices are included.
  4. Verify the approved revision and release instruction.
  5. Remove unrelated materials from the delivery package.
  6. Confirm the authorized recipient and order item.

Do not edit technical findings while fixing a delivery problem. If a page is missing or a reference appears wrong, return the report to the release owner for an approved correction.

Plan for large illustrated reports

QuickAttach’s upload guidance specifies files under 100 MB. Image-heavy reports may need an approved optimized export or external route. Check readability before accepting a smaller copy; a blurred diagram can make a successfully delivered document unusable.

QuickAttach supports files or links per item. External access remains the hosting provider’s responsibility. Test the actual destination as a permitted non-owner and keep its owner identified.

Keep the handoff neutral

Tell the buyer that the approved report is available and identify its reference and date. Avoid putting sensitive findings in a subject line. Shopify’s public Files area should not be used for confidential customer documents.

A download record can assist with access support, but it does not establish that the report was read, accepted, or professionally explained. Keep the professional contact route distinct from the route for technical download help.
