One order can involve two directions
A buyer might submit a photograph so an artist can produce a portrait. The photograph is an input. The final portrait is an output. A tool that delivers the portrait should not be assumed to collect the photograph, validate the brief, or obtain approval for the artwork.
QuickAttach’s documented role is merchant delivery of files or links associated with order items. Its walkthrough starts with the merchant opening an order and selecting a deliverable. Do not build a customer-upload promise around that documentation.
Assign an owner to each handoff
| Stage | Question to resolve | Record to keep |
|---|---|---|
| Intake | Where does the buyer provide the source material? | Order reference and input location |
| Production | Is the brief complete and usable? | Accepted input revision |
| Review | Which output is approved for release? | Final deliverable identity |
| Delivery | Which item and recipient receive it? | File association and delivery activity |
This handoff record can live in an approved internal work system. It is not a proposed QuickAttach form or an automatic integration. Avoid copying the buyer’s source material into every record; a reference to the controlled location is often enough for coordination.
Example: a custom illustration
In a fictional store, order 4109 covers an illustration of a customer’s bicycle. The buyer submits a reference image through the store’s chosen intake channel. A producer confirms that the image is usable, then creates a finished print file. The release reviewer compares the output with the accepted brief before the delivery operator attaches it to the illustration item.
If the input image is missing, the order needs an intake follow-up. Sending an empty delivery email will not solve that problem. If the final print file is missing, asking the buyer to upload the same reference again will not solve production. Naming the direction of the missing file makes support more precise.
Questions for evaluating the intake side
- Can the buyer submit the required formats and sizes?
- How is the submission linked to the correct order?
- Who can access it, and when is it removed?
- What happens when an input is incomplete or replaced?
- How does production know which version to use?
Evaluate the delivery side separately: final-file mapping, recipient access, message clarity, and re-download availability. Connecting both sides with an order reference is a process design choice; it should not be described as a built-in integration unless you have verified one.
