Begin with the receiving requirement
A listener saving a song to a phone has different needs from an editor importing audio into a production session. Ask whether the file is for listening, editing, or delivery to another platform. If that platform specifies settings, use its requirements as the starting point.
The Audacity export documentation shows that audio export is a separate production operation with format choices. QuickAttach does not make those choices or transcode the file. Its role begins after you have prepared an accepted, suitable asset or link.
A fair two-export comparison
Use one original, non-sensitive sample containing representative speech or music. Export two candidates, such as the WAV and MP3 versions your production tools support. Record the exact settings rather than writing only “high quality.” Give both candidates the same content and duration so the comparison answers a useful question.
For fictional order 5149, the buyer needs a listening copy. The sample could be a short original spoken demonstration. This article provides the test design only; it does not contain measured files, claimed compression ratios, or listening results.
| Observation | Candidate A | Candidate B |
|---|---|---|
| Format and export settings | Record after export | Record after export |
| Actual file bytes | Measure | Measure |
| Intended phone playback | Test and record | Test and record |
| Audible issues in sample | Note location | Note location |
| Customer requirement satisfied | Explain | Explain |
Make the tradeoff visible
If both candidates meet the listening requirement, easier downloading may influence the decision. If the buyer requires a particular production format, a smaller listening copy should not silently replace it. You can offer a companion preview only when the purchased package and delivery structure support that arrangement.
Compare the chosen file against the upload guidance. If it exceeds the limit, external hosting may preserve the required format without changing the app's upload limit. Test access separately.
Document the decision
Keep the source sample, export settings, measured sizes, tested devices, and reason for selection in your production notes. Repeat the test when your export preset or receiving platform changes. A format decision based on a real sample is more defensible than a blanket claim that one extension always sounds better or works everywhere.
