An Uploaded File Is Too Large for QuickAttach: What Are the Options?

QuickAttach support specifies a 100 MB upload limit. If a file is too large, reduce it only when the result still meets the purchase requirements, or deliver an approved external link with tested permissions.

Measure the finished deliverable

Check the size of the exported file you intend to upload, not the authoring project or a folder estimate. QuickAttach’s support checklist asks merchants to keep files under 100 MB. Leave practical headroom instead of relying on an untested exact-boundary interpretation of megabytes.

A larger file does not necessarily contain more useful information. A report might include unnecessarily large images, while a photo commission may need its original resolution. Decide what the customer bought before changing export settings. Renaming an extension does not change a format or make a file smaller.

Choose a route based on the content

DeliverableUseful optionVerification
Illustrated PDFExport an optimized copyRead small labels and inspect images.
Several small documentsOne ZIP package where suitableCheck total size and extract the archive.
Large master artwork or videoApproved external hostingTest intended access and availability.

A ZIP may provide organization without meaningful size reduction. Do not promise compression will bring every file under the limit. Also do not assume the app accepts several separate attachments for one item; a single package or a single destination can avoid that unverified dependency.

A fictional size decision

DEMO-464 is a 128 MB design report. The merchant creates a 42 MB customer PDF and compares diagrams at the size the buyer will use. If the reduced copy loses essential detail, the merchant retains the original and selects external delivery instead. These numbers illustrate the decision; they are not compression results from a product test.

Test the route before customer delivery

  1. Open every page or play the relevant media in the final export.
  2. Check the actual size and descriptive filename.
  3. Use a synthetic file for a test upload and record the observed outcome.
  4. For external hosting, open the exact destination as a permitted non-owner.
  5. Confirm who maintains that destination and how long access is promised.

QuickAttach supports order-item links as well as uploads. Linking does not move the file into app storage or keep an external account active. Tell the customer which format they are receiving and any necessary software before sending the final delivery.
