QuickAttach Downloads Are Missing from the Order Status Page

Check whether the customer-page extension is activated for the intended surface, then verify that the order actually has a deliverable available. A missing block and a missing file require different fixes.

Identify the page the customer is viewing

Ask whether the customer is on the order-status page, a customer-account page, or an email destination. Record the surface before changing settings. Similar-looking pages can use different app extensions and configurations. A screenshot from an admin preview does not establish what a buyer sees.

QuickAttach support lists customer-page extension activation as a setup topic, while the walkthrough describes a return path from order status. Neither source should be read as a guarantee that every account setup and page context behaves identically.

An activation and context checklist

  1. Confirm QuickAttach is installed and available in the intended store.
  2. Locate the extension instructions for the exact customer surface in use.
  3. Check that the block was added to the correct page and its configuration was saved.
  4. Open an order with an approved synthetic deliverable attached and delivered.
  5. Test as the intended customer, without relying on an administrator session.
  6. Compare the result with an order that has no deliverable, so an empty state is not mistaken for an installation failure.

This checklist is a validation plan. Button names and compatibility should be confirmed in the current store; it does not claim a completed installation test.

A fictional diagnosis

On DEMO-467, the branded delivery email works, but the buyer reports no download on a return visit. The merchant discovers that only one customer surface was configured. Before adding anything elsewhere, they identify the exact route from the customer’s order and check extension support for that context.

If the extension is present but displays no file, inspect the order-item association and delivery state. Uploading to another order with a similar number will not make a file appear here. If the entire block is absent, focus on activation and surface compatibility instead.

Escalate with useful evidence

Prepare the store domain, affected page type, synthetic order reference, visible error or empty-state description, and the steps that reproduce it. A sanitized screenshot may help, but remove customer addresses, document previews, and private link tokens. Include whether email delivery works, because that separates presentation from delivery failures.

While the page issue is being investigated, provide the buyer with an authorized working route already supported by your process. Avoid promising that a theme edit will solve an extension issue before its location is understood. Keep a record of any configuration changed so you can reverse it if the test does not help.
