Turn the agreed scope into a package
Start from the purchased engagement rather than everything the consultant created along the way. Include the outputs the buyer needs to act, and exclude internal notes, unused drafts, and materials outside the agreed scope.
The package should distinguish recommendations, reusable tools, and reference material. That helps the buyer avoid treating an illustrative example as a finished implementation or a static report as an editable working model.
A fictional consulting index
| Order DEMO-500 file | Purpose | Start here? |
|---|---|---|
| 01-handoff.pdf | Scope, package map, and next actions. | Yes. |
| 02-process-review.pdf | Review of a fictional order workflow. | Read after the handoff. |
| 03-action-register.xlsx | Editable list for assigning follow-up work. | Save a working copy. |
| 04-reference.txt | Definitions and file requirements. | Use when needed. |
This example is synthetic. The filenames provide sequence without requiring a proprietary project tool to understand the package.
Write a useful handoff page
State the covered scope, final revision, date of the source information, and any explicit limitations. Identify two or three immediate actions tied to the service, not generic advice to “review everything.” Name the support route and distinguish delivery questions from any included follow-up consulting.
If no follow-up service is included, describe the actual boundary plainly. Do not imply that a download includes indefinite consulting access or future updates.
Inspect the final package
- Every promised output appears in the index.
- Each file opens without the consultant’s local folders.
- External links work for the intended recipient.
- Editable files contain no unrelated data or hidden notes.
- The final package has one clear revision identity.
- The order and purchased item match the package.
QuickAttach supports delivery of files or links associated with order items. A single ZIP or controlled destination may be suitable for a multi-file engagement; verify the size and access route rather than assuming several separate attachment slots.
After sending, record the package reference and the customer-facing instructions. A support colleague should be able to answer “which file should I open?” from the handoff page alone. That is a useful final acceptance check for consulting delivery.
